Pause before you react

STOP is a crisis survival skill that helps you pause and create space between a trigger and your response. When emotions are running high, acting impulsively often makes things worse. STOP gives you a four-step pause so you can choose your next action wisely.

Practise STOP during small frustrations — a slow queue, a difficult message, a minor argument — so it becomes automatic when you really need it in a crisis.
