GIVE

Gentle — be kind and respectful. No attacks, threats, judging, or contempt. Even when you disagree strongly.

Interested — listen actively. Make eye contact. Ask questions. Show genuine curiosity about their perspective.

Validate — acknowledge their feelings and perspective as understandable. 'I can see why you'd feel that way.' 'That makes sense given...' You don't have to agree to validate.

Easy manner — use humour where appropriate. Be light. Smile. Don't take everything too seriously. Make the interaction pleasant.
