© 2026 The OT Compass. All rights reserved.

The Compass app, including its design, content, written materials, therapeutic frameworks as expressed herein, and source code, is the intellectual property of The OT Compass and is protected by UK copyright law and international copyright treaties. Unauthorised reproduction, distribution, or modification is prohibited.

1. About Compass

Compass is a free, evidence-informed digital toolkit developed by The OT Compass to support neurodivergent teenagers aged approximately 11–18 with emotional regulation, sensory processing, executive function, and wellbeing. It is designed to complement, not replace, professional occupational therapy, clinical psychology, or other healthcare services.

2. Not a Medical Device

Compass is a supportive wellbeing tool and is not a medical device, clinical intervention, or substitute for professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you or someone you support is in crisis or requires urgent mental health support, please contact a qualified professional or call emergency services immediately. In the UK, you can call the Samaritans on 116 123 (free, 24/7) or text SHOUT to 85258.

3. Who May Use Compass

Compass is intended for use by young people (with parental or guardian awareness where appropriate), their families, and registered health and education professionals. By using Compass, you confirm that you are using it for its intended purpose and in accordance with these Terms.

4. Privacy & Data

Compass stores all health and personal data locally on your device only. No personal information, health data, or diary entries are ever transmitted to any server or third party. We do not create user accounts or use cookies. We collect anonymous, aggregate page view analytics (page URL, browser type, country) using Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool — no personal data, health data, or device identifiers are included in analytics. Your health and personal data stays entirely on your device and is deleted if you clear your browser storage. Compass is designed to be GDPR-compliant by default through data minimisation.

5. Intellectual Property

All content within Compass — including but not limited to the app name, logo, design, written descriptions, skill instructions, resource text, and the overall structure and combination of tools — is the original work of The OT Compass and is protected by copyright. The underlying therapeutic frameworks referenced (such as Zones of Regulation®, DBT-A, and Sensory Integration Theory) are the intellectual property of their respective owners and are referenced here for educational purposes only.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any part of Compass without prior written permission from The OT Compass.

6. Permitted Use

You are permitted to use Compass for personal, educational, and clinical support purposes. Professionals may use Compass as a clinical adjunct with their clients. You may not use Compass for commercial purposes, resell access to it, or represent it as your own work.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Compass is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The OT Compass makes no guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose. Use of Compass is at your own risk.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The OT Compass shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Compass. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

9. Changes to These Terms

The OT Compass reserves the right to update these Terms of Use at any time. Continued use of Compass following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The date of the most recent revision is shown at the top of this page.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
